2010 Partners Conference
In November 2010 Circle held its annual Partners
conference. With a focus on professional leadership, a number
of masterclasses bought together speakers from the worlds of
health, business and beyond to address the specific leadership
challenges they face. The conference was run in partnership
with the Centre of Management Development at London Business
School, who offered world-class research and case-based insights
into leadership challenges.
Introduction
Dr Massoud Fouladi, Circle's Chief Medical Officer, opened the
conference on a note of change. Health care is a sector
undergoing rapid changes under constant public scrutiny. It's a
sector that relies on a multi-skilled, multi-disciplinary workforce
working together to answer demand pressures and supply
constraints.
Clinical leadership, devolving decision-making and
accountability to those closer to patients, will be at the heart of
health services run for the benefit of patients and for maximum
public value. But only if the old idea of clinical leadership is
reworked for the new landscapes of health care.
Circle Academy supports our clinicians' development to become
outstanding service leaders. We are more about the how than the why
of the new clinical leadership.
