Alex Cowey

Professional profile
Mr Cowey is a Consultant Orthopaedic and Hand Surgeon who
specialises in hand surgery.
Since graduating from Manchester University and completing his
basic surgical training, Mr Cowey has undertaken Higher Surgical
Training in Orthopaedics and Trauma in 'Oswestry' (a national and
international centre for orthopaedic training).
He became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh
in Trauma and Orthopaedic in 2007 and subsequently undertook a
highly specialised training fellowship in Hand Surgery in
Manchester and Wrightington working and learning from some of the
best hand surgeons in the UK. In 2009 he was awarded a Diploma in
Hand Surgery by the British Society for Surgery of the Hand; a
society he is a member of along with the British Orthopaedic
Association.
Mr Cowey has lectured both nationally and internationally in
hand surgery and in 2010 joins the AO faculty - an internationally
recognised authority in trauma surgery.
