Professional profile
Andrew has been a consultant in Oral and Maxillofacial surgery
at Nottingham University Hospitals since 2001. He qualified
BDS with Honours (Bristol 1986), FDSRCS (Eng) 1992, MBChB with
Honours (Birmingham, 1993), FRCS (Eng) 1995, FRCS (OMFS) with gold
medal 2000.
His specialist interest is in the management of TMJ disorders
(one of 8 UK surgeons carrying out TMJ replacement) and facial
deformity. He also manages an Oral Surgery practice - Trent
Bridge Oral Surgery - for implant and minor oral surgery.
He is currently secretary of the British Association of TMJ
Surgeons, Incoming President of the European Society for TMJ
Surgery. He is section editor and expert adviser for TMJ for
the British Journal or Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
He is NICE expert adviser for TMJ replacement and wrote the
National Guidelines for TMJ replacement He was formerly MAC
chair for the Nottingham Treatment Centre where he treats both NHS
and private patients.
Personal profile
Andrew is a keen sportsman and enjoys hockey, cricket and
tennis. He is a qualified hockey umpire.
He also is a trainer of Paediatric Life Support.
He has 2 children.
