Professional profile
Mr Ayers is a specialist plastic surgeon with a large practice
treating skin and cosmetic deformities. He has many patients with
moles and skin lesions as well as scars, birthmarks and other
cosmetic concerns. He has particular expertise in the
diagnosis and surgical treatment of skin cancers including
melanoma.
Mr Ayers studied medicine at Cambridge University where he
graduated with honours before spending time as a surgeon in the
Royal Navy. He later returned to hospitals in the UK in order to
specialise in plastic surgery. He has undertaken fellowships in
plastic surgery both in South Africa and in London.
During his higher surgical training he was awarded the Fellow
Royal College of Surgeons (Plastic) and entered onto the GMC's
specialist register for Plastic and Reconstructive surgery.
Mr Ayers now works as a Consultant Plastic Surgeon at Frenchay
Hospital, Bristol and The Royal United Hospital, Bath. He
enjoys spending time getting to know and understand his patients
and believes in personal and professional care.
