Duncan McGrouther

Professor McGrouther is a Consultant Plastic Surgeon.
He was appointed to the first chair of Plastic and
Reconstructive Surgery and was recruited by University College
London to develop what is currently the only University Plastic and
Reconstructive Surgery Research Group in the UK. He has developed a
large laboratory activity, recruiting the Blond Mclndoe Research
group and Professor Giorgio Terenghi with whom he jointly
supervises several fields of tissue repair research relevant to
reconstructive surgery. He provides a national 'research hub'
acting as mentor or adviser for Reconstructive Surgery research
fellows at many centres.
He is particularly interested in Dupuytrens disease, wound
healing and Tendon repair.
