James McDiarmid is a Consultant Plastic Surgeon at CircleBath.

Mr McDiarmid qualified in 1990 from the University of Aberdeen. He then took part in basic surgical training in Oxford, Cambridge, Manchester and Bath. In 1994 Mr McDiarmid was awarded Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons. He followed this by undertaking a masters degree in 1995 at the University of London which gained him a MSc.

James McDiarmid took part in higher surgical training in Louisville Kentucky and in Glasgow. He was subsequently awarded Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons (Plastic) in 1999 and in 2000 was entered into the GMC's specialist register for Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.

From 2000 onwards Mr McDiarmid worked at Derriford Hospital in Plymouth as a Consultant Plastic Surgeon. He left the NHS in 2008 to focus on full time independent practice.

Mr McDiarmid frequently makes academic visits to colleagues offering Plastic Surgery courses. He is currently a member of the Royal College of Surgeons' advanced Plastic Surgery skills faculty.
