Professional profile

Mr Budd is a Consultant General and Vascular Surgeon at the Royal United Hospital, Bath. He has a particular interest in day case surgery and especially in ambulatory hernia repair under local anaesthetic. Over the last 10 years Mr Budd has performed well over 1000 hernia repairs under local anaesthetic.

He is an examiner and appraiser for the Royal College of Surgeons of England and has been since 2000. He is also a surgical skills tutor for the College and is actively involved in teaching both medical students and junior doctors.

As Clinical Director at the Royal United Hospital, he has also helped set up a surgical assessment unit as part of the Department of Health Action On project. Furthermore, he is at present undertaking a Diploma in Medical Education at the University of Bristol.

First and foremost Mr Budd is committed to ensuring a very high standard of care for his patients by delivering a streamlined and stress free patient treatment pathway. This is maintained by regular audit and patient feedback.
