Professional profile
Dr Corne undertook pre-clinical training at Cambridge followed
by clinical training at Kings College Hospital and undertook house
officer and senior house officer posts at Kings College Hospital
and Guys Hospital, London. He was a respiratory specialist
registrar at Southampton General Hospital where he also completed
his respiratory research leading to the award of a PhD.
Following a post-doctoral year at Yale University he was appointed
as Consultant Physician at the Queen's Medical Centre in February
2000. He is the lead physician for COPD for Nottingham
University Hospitals and works closely with PCTs and their clusters
in developing COPD community services and continues to undertake
research in COPD. His other clinical interest is
asthma, particularly occupational asthma for which he runs a
specialist referral service working closely with occupational
health.
He has a long-standing interest in postgraduate medical
education and is currently Head of the East Midlands (North)
Postgraduate Specialty School of Medicine.
Dr Corne sees and treats NHS patients at the Nottingham NHS
Treatment Centre.
