Mr
Jonathan Luck
Laser Eye Surgery, Ophthalmology
Mr. Luck's friendliness and evident expertise gave me complete confidence in him.
Professional profile
Mr Luck is a Consultant Ophthalmologist at CircleBath and at the
Royal United Hospital in Bath. He trained at Manchester University
and went on to teach Human Anatomy and Cell Biology to medical
students in Liverpool.
After this he joined the renowned St Paul's Eye Unit in
Liverpool to begin his post-graduate Opthalmic training followed by
further training at St James' Hospital, the General Infirmary in
Leeds, and the Bradford Royal Infirmary.
Mr Luck's interest in corneal surgery and treatment of corneal
problems began here, and in 1994 he studied in Australia at the
Flinders Medical Centre under the mentorship of Professor Doug
Coster, a world expert in corneal disease. As well as teaching
Australian interns 'keyhole' phakoemulsification cataract surgery,
he undertook a research program into corneal grafting.
Nevertheless Mr Luck's main interest still lies in Refractive
and Cataract surgery and he performs high-volume cataract surgery,
corneal surgery including corneal grafting, and squint surgery in
addition to a wide variety of other procedures. He also has a wide
experience in Laser Vision Correction and other forms of refractive
surgery. His expertise is recognised worldwide at National and
International meetings where Mr Luck often presents papers and
lectures to his peers.
Many of his papers have been published in peer-reviewed
journals. Mr Luck is currently a reviewer himself for refractive
papers submitted to the British Journal of Ophthalmology.
