Mr Williams has been a Consultant General and Colorectal
("Bowel") Surgeon in Nottingham since 2002. He graduated from
Manchester University Medical School in 1989 and his surgical
training was in Manchester and the North Western Surgical Training
Rotation.
He studied for his MD at Harvard University and The Brigham and
Women's Hospital in Boston USA, which gave him the opportunity to
work with world renowned experts in the treatment of colonic
disease as well as experience first hand a private health care
system second to none. He is a fellow of the Royal College of
Surgeons and a member of the speciality association, The
Association of Coloproctology of Great Britain and Ireland.
He is an author of more than 20 scientific publications, mainly in
the area ischaemic bowel injury, critical care and inflammatory
bowel disease. His main specialty is Colorectal ("Bowel")
Surgery and he is fully qualified to deal with all aspects of the
assessment, diagnosis and treatment of all colorectal diseases.
He sees and treats both NHS and private patients at the
Nottingham NHS Treatment Centre.
Special clinical interests
Inflammatory bowel disease, Ulcerative colitis and Crohns
disease
All aspects of the management of colorectal cancer including
recurrent disease
Same day ("daycase") surgery for common conditions affecting the
anus - haemorrhoids ("piles"), anal fissures and anal
fistulae. The remainder of his work is in the area of
"General" Surgery. This includes:

- lumps and bumps (lipomas, cysts, skin tags, etc).
