Professional profile
Dr Prenctice is a Consultant Medical Radiologist.
He qualified from Bristol University Medical School in 1998 and
following two years of surgical training and having passed the
MRCS, he managed to secure a place on the Severn (formerly Bristol)
radiology specialist registrar training scheme
Due to his keen interest in teaching, Dr Prentice also undertook
a postgraduate degree in medical education whilst working as a
registrar at Bristol University.
In order to gain more specialist experience in this chosen
sub-speciality of musculoskeletal radiology, Mr Prentice undertook
a fellowship at Royal Perth Hospital in Australia - the largest
trauma centre on the West Coast of Australia.
On his return, Mr Prentice began his post at the Royal United
Hospital as a Consultant Radiologist. He has now been in this post
for over a year and has already developed good working
relationships with clinical colleagues as well as bringing new
experience to the department.
As well as working at the Royal United Hospita, Mr Prentice also
divides some of his time betweenthe Mineral Hospital and the Bath
clinic where he provides specialise Musculoskletal Radiology
opinion and musculoskeletal interventional skills.
Personal profile
Dr Prentice is married with two young children. He enjoys
playing golf in his free time.

Research interests
Mr Prentice has presented at regional and international meetings
on a variety of topics over the last 5 years and has several
publications in peer reviewed journals. Most of this work related
to musculoskeletal radiology. His largest projects include work on
patella height measurements in dysplastic knees and a study on the
incidence and imaging characteristics of bone and soft tissue
tumours in the Southwest.
