Professional profile

Dr Stone is trained as a specialist in General Internal Medicine and Rheumatology. She has worked in the UK and Ireland, Canada (at the University of Toronto) and New York (at Hospital Special Surgery) at Consultant Level.

She is certified by the International Society of Clinical Densitometry in Bone Density readings and was a co-Director of the Metabolic bone program at St. Michael's Hospital Toronto from 2008.

She is renowned for multidisciplinary state of the art program developments. Examples of her work include the SMART program (spondyloarthropathy methodology research therapeutics program) and the Osteoarthritis programs. The SMART program, which she initially developed in Toronto, is now being emulated in Bath, New York and Singapore.

Dr Stone has now established a rapid access, ''one stop' Osteoporosis Screen and Treat service at Circle Bath. This is a multidisciplinary programme and is modelled on the internationally renowned centre of excellence for Osteoporosis at the Univeristy of Toronto.  You can watch a short video on the Screen and Treat service.

Dr Stone is also an expert and international key opinion leader in the field of inflammatory diseases (in particular inflammatory arthritis) and has published work in top quality peer review journals.

First and foremost, Dr Stone is a friendly, compassionate and hardworking doctor who is passionate about providing the best care for her patients.

Personal profile

Dr Stone is the mother of two children. She enjoys fine art appreciation in her spare time. She keeps fit by running and is a keen tennis player. During her years in North America she enjoyed the outdoors and embraced the winters by skiing and skating with her husband and children.
