Mr Downing is a Consultant Hand and Orthopaedic Surgeon at the
Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust and Clinical lead for
Hand Surgery at the Nottingham NHS Treatment Centre.
He completed general orthopaedic training on the Mid-Trent
Rotation (Nottingham, Derby, Mansfield) and undertook specialist
hand surgery fellowships in Nottingham, Derby and Sydney,
Australia.
Undertakes all aspects of hand and wrist surgery including
surgery of the peripheral nerves. Areas of special clinical
interest include hand and wrist trauma and the reconstruction of
complex distal radius fractures. Research interests include aspects
of the management of scaphoid and distal radius fractures.
Mr Downing sees and treats both NHS and private patients at the
Nottingham NHS Treatment Centre.
