Professional profile
Nick Jones is a general practitioner and leads CircleBath's
Health Screening service. He has been a partner at St Chads
Surgery in Midsomer Norton since 1998.
After qualifying from Charing Cross and Westminster Medical
School in London in 1990, Nick worked as a junior doctor at the RUH
before joining the Bath GP Vocational Training Scheme. He was a GP
Registrar in the same practice where he is now a partner. He has
post-graduate qualifications in paediatrics, gynaecology and
obstetrics and occupational medicine. Within St Chads Surgery, Nick
is a GP trainer, performs minor surgery, oversees the occupational
medical assessments and runs the clinical trials. He is the
national Clinical Lead for Industry in the Primary Care Research
Network.
Nick has always been interested in disease prevention and health
promotion. He wrote two editions of the Rough Guide to Travel Heath
and is currently working on a third edition in electronic format.
He has had extensive experience of Health Screening working in the
Bath Clinic department for 10 years.
Personal profile
Nick has a wide range and eclectic mix of interests which he
juggles with a busy professional and family life. He is a keen
football fan and still manages to hobble around a five-a-side pitch
from time to time. His love of music has been lifelong and
currently remains active with the group You, Me and Him with whom
he plays guitar. A native of Wales, he still visits frequentlyand
particularly enjoys tramping the hills of Snowdonia. During other
spare moments he's usually found out on his bike or pottering the
garden.
