Nigel Mercer is a Cosmetic/Plastic Surgeon at CircleBath.
He is also a Senior Consultant Cleft and Plastic Surgeon at the
North Bristol NHS Trust, who divides his time between BPS and his
NHS practise which specialises in paediatric plastic surgery and
general plastic surgery.
He received his medical degree at Bristol University and four
years later passed his Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons.
Through his plastic surgery training Nigel worked in hospitals in
Glasgow, Bristol, London and Canada and in 1993 completed his
Plastic Surgery Master's degree.
He was elected a Fellow of the Royal College of Paediatrics and
Child Health in 1997. Mr Mercer now also works as an Honorary
Senior Lecturer at the University of Bristol.
Nigel has been recommended as one of the top face life surgeons
in the UK (Dr Mark Porter, in Sainsbury's Magazine, February 2008)
and has a standout reputation for all forms of cosmetic surgery
procedures.
Nigel Mercer was President of the British Association of
Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons in 2008 and 2010.
Nigel also is a founder member of a charity set up to
improve cleft care throughout Europe (ECO) and has worked in
support of cleft teams in Russia and Bulgaria. Currently, he is
helping to set up a cleft unit in China
Personal profile
Nigel enjoys watching his children play sport. He also plays
lawn tennis and does to the gym in order to maintain his fitness.
He also enjoys performing and visual arts, in particular he loves
the theatre.
