Richard Krysztopik is a Consultant Surgeon at the Royal United Hospital, Bath.

After graduating from Manchester University, Mr Krysztopik gained an MD thesis in 1999. He completed his surgical training in the North West and South West of the UK as well as abroad (including research in Louisville, USA and specialist training in South Australia).

In 1992 he became a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons and entered the Specialist Register in 2000. He was also appointed in 2001 to the RUH.

Richard Krysztopik is now the local lead for the team at the Royal United Hospital in Bath, which co-ordinates care for patients with cancers such as oesophageal and gastric cancer.

  • Minimally invasive (key hole) surgery, including operations for gallstones and abdominal wall hernia repair
  • Gastro-oesophageal surgery, such as key hole surgery for hiatus hernia repair or reflux control, achalasia and obesity surgery.
  • Endoscopy, using flexible cameras to examine the stomach.
  • Oesophageal and gastric cancer
