CircleBath state of the art operating theatres

Unplanned returns to theatre

An operation, however minor, is a serious event and we understand that this can make our patients feel nervous. However, we work hard to ensure all our patients receive the best possible outcome first time round. Consequently unplanned returns to our own theatres within 28 days of surgery are measured on a monthly basis.

During the last 12 months CircleBath has had five unplanned returns to theatre out of 4,136 patients treated in theatres.

MRSA bloodstream infections

We know our Patients are concerned by what they read about healthcare associated infections, like MRSA, which is one of the reasons why we strive to provide the very highest standards of care. Nationally this is measured through the number of MRSA bloodstream infections acquired within healthcare organisations. You can read more about our infection control policy here.

In 2010-2011 CircleBath had zero cases of MRSA bloodstream infections compared to the national NHS Acute Trusts rate of 1.8 cases per 100,000 bed days. Source Health Protection Agency
