Endometrial Ablation - Microwave

What is endometrial ablation?

An endometrial ablation is an operation to remove the lining of the uterus (womb).  After the operation most women will experience a noticeable reduction in their periods, and in some cases, periods stop completely.

The need for an endometrial ablation is to relieve heavy periods usually caused by:

  • Fibroids where the muscle of the womb is overgrown
  • Polyps which is a small skin tag
  • Excessive thickening of the lining of the womb
