At The Nottingham NHS Treatment Centre, we provide a full range
of specialty services for the diagnosis, investigation and
treatment of endocrine disorders. The service is
Consultant-led and provides sub-specialty expertise in thyroid and
pituitary disease, adrenal disorders and calcium and metabolic bone
disease. We provide a minimum of three new patient lists per
week and 6 follow-up lists. There are joint clinics which run
in collaboration with colleagues in Neurosurgery, Paediatrics and
Gynaecology for patients with particular disorders. There is
a full range of laboratory diagnostic tests available to support
the endocrinology service together with state of the art imaging
equipment including MRI scanning for pituitary and adrenal disease,
ultrasound scanning for thyroid and parathyroid disease and DEXA
scanning for metabolic bone disease. Patient satisfaction
with the service is consistently high (100% of patients would
recommend the service to family or friends). The Consultants
recognise the crucial importance of clear communication with GP
colleagues and patients and we routinely provide medical reports
after clinical consultations and send copies to patients as well as
their Primary Care team
